The Resource Recovery Network (RRN) is made up of Community Recycling Centres (CRCs),which are facilities where residents can drop off unwanted goods to be repaired, refurbished, reused, repurposed, or recycled, creating a circular economy. This network is designed to maximise the diversion of reusable and recyclable materials from landfills, generating multiple environmental, social, cultural, and economic benefits for Auckland. Tipping Point is a key player in this network, helping to drive the vision of the Auckland Waste Management and Minimisation Plan 2018: ‘Auckland aspires to be Zero Waste by 2040, taking care of people and the environment and turning waste into resources.’
In June 2025, we opened our newly built Reuse shop and café as well as a Construction & Demolition Hub reuse shop which forms part of the Waitākere Resource Recovery Park. Auckland Council’s Waste Solutions and Tipping Point are partners working together in the shared vision of Zero Waste by 2040 mentioned above.
